Privacy Policy
- We collect the minimum needed to run your team: your name, your email or mobile number, and the sessions, costs and results your group logs.
- Your data lives in Australia (Supabase, Sydney). We never sell it and we don't show ads.
- We track who owes what — we never hold, move or process your money.
- You can see, correct or delete your data at any time. Just ask.
1Who this applies to
This policy covers Sessivo — our website (sessivo.com.au) and web app. It explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using Sessivo you agree to this policy.
2What we collect
| Category | What it is |
|---|---|
| Account | Your email address or mobile number (used only to send you a one-time sign-in code) and the display name your teammates see. |
| Team activity | Teams you join, sessions and availability polls, RSVPs and attendance, expenses you log (amounts and descriptions), running balances and settlements, game results and player ratings, venues, and any session notes. |
| PayID (optional) | If you choose to add your PayID (mobile, email or ABN) it is shown only to teammates who owe you money, so they can pay you directly. Sessivo never uses it to move money itself. You can remove it any time. |
| Playing category (optional) | You (or a team admin) can mark whether you play in men's or women's events, used only to organise gendered formats — mixed, men's or women's doubles. It is entirely optional: leave it unset and everything else still works. |
| Guests | If a member adds a guest, we store the guest's name only. Guests have no account. |
| Technical | Basic data our providers process to deliver and secure the service — e.g. your device's IP address and a session token stored in your browser. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers. |
We only collect what a team needs to organise games and square up costs. We do not ask for addresses, dates of birth, payment card numbers or bank details — payments happen outside Sessivo (see §6).
3How we use it
- To run the core service: polls, sessions, waitlists, fair-game matchmaking, and the shared cost ledger.
- To send you a one-time code so you can sign in (by SMS via our provider, or by email).
- To show your teammates the shared team information they need (who's in, who owes what — subject to your team's balance-privacy setting).
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4Who we share it with
Your information is visible to the members of the teams you belong to (that's the point of a shared app). Beyond that, we use a small number of trusted service providers ("sub-processors") to run Sessivo:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication and hosting of your data | Sydney, Australia |
| Twilio | Sending sign-in codes by SMS | Overseas (USA) |
| Resend | Sending sign-in codes by email (if used) | Overseas (USA) |
| Anthropic | Drafting session recaps (optional feature) — only when an organiser taps "Draft recap", and only player display names and that session's results are sent, never contact details | Overseas (USA) |
| Netlify | Serving the website and app | Global content network |
These providers process data only to deliver their part of the service. Sending an SMS or email code necessarily discloses your number or address to Twilio or Resend for that purpose. We may also disclose information if required by law.
5Where your data is stored
Your Sessivo data is stored in Supabase's Sydney (Australia) region. Some providers that send your sign-in code (Twilio, Resend) are based overseas and may process your number or email address outside Australia solely to deliver that message. If your organiser uses the optional recap feature, player display names and session results (only) are processed overseas by Anthropic to draft the text. By using these features you consent to this limited overseas handling.
6Money and payments
Sessivo is a ledger only. We record who paid for what and calculate what each person owes, but we never hold, transfer, process or have access to your money. Actual payments happen directly between you and your teammates (for example by PayID or bank transfer) outside Sessivo. We do not collect or store payment card numbers or bank account details, and Sessivo is not a payment service or financial product.
7Cookies and local storage
Sessivo uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and remember your last team. These are essential to the service — not advertising or tracking cookies. Clearing your browser storage will sign you out.
8Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your information while you use Sessivo. You can:
- Leave a team at any time; and
- Ask us to delete your account and personal information by emailing sessivoapp@gmail.com. We'll action this within a reasonable time.
One exception: for fairness, the shared cost ledger is kept as an accurate record so a team's past settlements can't be silently altered. Where you ask to be deleted, we remove or anonymise your personal details; entries needed for your team's financial integrity may be retained in anonymised form.
9Security
We protect your data with database row-level security (so you only ever see teams you belong to), encrypted connections (HTTPS), and passwordless one-time-code sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
10Children
Sessivo is intended for adults organising social sport. If a team includes players under 18, the account should be held and managed by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
11Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or ask how we handle it, by contacting us (§13). If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Sessivo evolves. We'll post the new version here and update the effective date. Significant changes will be notified in the app.
